This year, we’ve been all over the place.
We love to travel and learn about new cultures, so we’ve sent our team members all over the world. Since we started our company, we’ve had an unwavering commitment to exploring the world and gaining new experiences. We want to help our team members get out into the world and see what it has to offer. In this release of Redstone Wrapped, we will share with you where the #REDSQUAD travelled this year…
Familiarization trips, or FAM trips for short, are trips designed to showcase a particular destination for media, bloggers, event planners, etc. to receive media coverage, general awareness, and future business. This year, the #REDSQUAD visited Kamloops, Vancouver, and Edmonton! Learn more about FAM trips here.
Samantha Rosen, our Senior Event Manager, traveled to the city of Kamloops to familiarize Redstone with the area. She stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton and the Delta Hotels by Marriot. Our itinerary was jam-packed with incredible activities including:
- North Shore Dinner Tour: Bright Eye Brewing, Yew Street Food Hall, & Red Beard
- Walk Rivers Trails to Riverside Park for a private yoga class with Yoga Now Kamloops
- Harvest at Doubletree Hotel for breakfast
- Monte Creek Winery wine tasting and site visit
- Kelson Hall site visit
- Garden party reception with lawn games and site visit
- Sandman Signature site visit
- K’wese’ltken Farmer and Artisan Market
- Coast Hotel and Conference Centre site visit
- Thompson Rivers University Conference Centre site visit
- Tobiano Golf Course: tour of Kamloops Lake, golf lessons with pros, and wine tasting and dinner at Black Iron Club & Grill
- And more!
Partners like #MeetInKamloops make it possible to create incredible experiences for our clients. A huge thank you to them for helping us connect with local businesses and organizations while we were in town. We had a great time exploring all that Kamloops has to offer.
During this immersive experience, Yuna had the incredible opportunity to view the city through the lens of a local. Connecting with event planners not just from different parts of Canada but also from the United States and Europe proved to be incredibly inspiring. This trip was a treasure trove of resources, providing invaluable insights for any future events that Redstone Agency’s clients might consider hosting in Vancouver.
Yuna extends her heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in organizing this FAM trip!
One of our Event Managers, Laura van Zutphen, went on a FAM trip to Edmonton, with the amazing Explore Edmonton team. This FAM trip was centered around seeing Jasper and the 2022 JUNO awards. They flew in early Friday morning and headed straight to Jasper for three days, where we stayed at luxurious hotels, went on numerous outdoor activities, and bonded as a group. We then took a bus to Edmonton to see spectacular venues, experience upscale dining and cuisine, and truly understand why hosting your next event in Edmonton is unparalleled, thanks to the amazing ground support from the Explore Edmonton team.
Five-Year Milestone Trip
As a token of our gratitude and appreciation, employees who complete five years of service with Redstone are eligible to book a company-paid FAM trip anywhere in the world as a way to say thank you for your hard work, dedication, and contributions to Redstone.
This year, our Account Director, Natalie Wallace, celebrated their five-year milestone by going to Japan for nine days, visiting Tokyo, Kiyosaki, and Osaka.
In Nat’s words, “Japan was a trip of a lifetime – I’ve dreamed about going since I was a kid, and honestly it was everything I wanted. My only regret is not going for longer! But I’m so grateful for the opportunity to get to go – thank you Redstone for five years!”
In addition to these incredible adventures, our team travelled to unique destinations for client events including Cape Town, South Africa. Our team also travelled to Poland to learn more about the history of the Holocaust which you can learn about here.
And that’s where we went this year!
We hope you had as much fun following along with us as we did exploring these new places. We can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
