What we saw, and loved, while we were out and about this 2015 holiday season.
November and December are among the busiest months to host events. At Redstone, we had the privilege of attending well over 30 events this holiday season. As event experts, it is our job to know what is happening in the event world and to stay ahead of the planning trend and as a result, we got to experience some pretty great events this season.
Here is the list of some of our favourite touches (in no particular order) from the 2015 holiday party roundup!
What’s Old is New Again. At this year’s PCMA Canadian Innovation Conference we loved how the old Maple Leaf Gardens, a Toronto landmark (now known as the Mattamy Athletic Centre), was transformed into one of the hottest conference industry parties of the year. On top of that, the use of Polaroid cameras to capture special moments throughout the night was a nice touch and we loved being able to take a keepsake along with us when we left.
Inter-ACTIVE Stations. One of the greatest parts of attending events is the networking opportunity. Not only did we have the chance to network with many industry colleagues at the Hyatt Toronto holiday party, we got to network with moving food stations. Literally, there were individuals carrying the food stations around to engage us in conversation and ensure we were well fed.
Rock Star Committee. For anyone who attended the CSAE Trillium Chapter holiday party, there is no need to introduce this event experience! For those who couldn’t make it, the CSAE Trillium Chapter Committee members really got into the ‘Party like a Rock Star’ theme by performing some of their favourite songs live, accompanied by a full piece band, for the enjoyment of the attendees. Talk about Committee engagement!
The Intimate Dinner Party. We were so thrilled to join Destination St. John’s, Delta St. John’s and the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland for an intimate dinner with some equally incredible industry colleagues. It was nice to have a quiet evening; one focused on conversation, great company and amazing food. Since the event was intimate, we had the opportunity to establish some pretty great relationships. Big parties are fun, but we never underestimate the value of an intimate gathering.
Two Birds One Stone. We are all so busy this time of year. We’re planning our clients’ holiday parties, attending our industry’s holiday parties, and getting our family holiday plans underway as well. We so appreciated the opportunity to do some holiday shopping at the Holiday market place, during the MPI Toronto holiday gala. It was a nice touch!
‘Tis the Season of Giving. For all the fun that comes with the holiday season, we believe equally in the importance of giving back. At Redstone, we undertook our own giving initiatives this season with SickKids hospital. We were thrilled to also participate in other organizations’ giving plans like the #VanGiving Diaper Drop and The Idea Hunter’s holiday hamper. Kudos to everyone that got involved in their own giving initiatives this season!
DIY. We always love a great DIY project, especially when it engages a team to work together to create something special (and on budget). At the TalentEgg Client Appreciation Party, we got to experience just that. A team of dedicated individuals, each of whom, put their own touch on the event to ensure their clients, partners and industry friends had a warm and inviting experience. Bringing their network into their office environment was also a nice touch!
Did we not make it out to your event this season? Our apologies! Please be sure to let us know what you have in store for the 2016 year! @RedstoneAgency / info@redstoneagency.ca
